Eight for Eight!

Varazs Vizslas has 3 birthdays in June!  Yesterday, one litter turned six and today, the eight puppies from our 2006 litter turn 8! 
Hence, 8 for 8!

Eight for Eight!

Happy 8th Birthday to our 2006 litter born June 17th.  The 8 puppies turning 8 are:  Lucy 1, Lucy 2, Nika, Ruby1, Lloyd, Tessie, Tucker and our Tyro . They are out of Am/Can/Int'l Ch Kizmar Touch of Evil CD RE JH (Hudson)  and our  Nova (CH Ferngold Varazs Innovation Can/Am CD, FDJ, JH, Can/Am RA, Am RE, Am RAE, CGN.)  Many people mistake Tyro for a puppy because of his high energy and youthful appearance!! He doesn't have much grey hair except for a bit under his chin.

Love to chew

We discovered that Ruby (aka Varazs Kiralyi Rubicund) from our 2003 litter who boarded with us for the past 2 weeks LOVES to chew.  She managed to devour about 4 rubber chew toys - fortunately my dogs weren't interested in them - and then started on the soft toys - which my dogs LOVE although they don't chew them, they just carry them around.   Ruby seems to like chew toys, sticks and soft toys and acoording to her owners, she LOVES TO CHEW and destroys toys in no time flat.

I don't know why one dog loves to chew and another doesn't.  Our dogs have destroyed plenty of toys in the past but not recently.  I wonder if it has to do with the fact that right now, my two of my dogs are getting a lot of training in agility and another in rally and so their minds and energy are focused on other activities.  What do you think?

Belated Birthday Cake

We had several birthdays squeezed into 4 weeks but last month (June) I was very busy at shows and obedience and rally trials and there wasn't enough time or an opportunity to celebrate our dogs' birthdays.  So today we managed to do it with a walk and a cake.  Enjoying the outing today were birthday Vizslas:

• Miska, Vadasz & Ruby who turned 9 years old on June 23 oops s/b 26 (they are littermates from our 2003 litter; Ruby is visiting us for 2 weeks so stay turned for more pics of her) 
• Tyro who turned 6; he's from our 2006 litter
• Quest and Diva, brother and sister from our 2008 litter who turned 4
• Bodi from our May 31, 2011 litter who turned one.
