Celebrating Sasha's Life

How time flies by! Three years ago today (January 22, 2008), we said farewell to our beloved Sasha.  Time does heal one's grief and I can honestly say that now I can smile more than cry when I think about or look at photos of him.  He was a such a huge and important part of my life - we were together for more than 15 years and he was one of those "once-in-a-lifetime' dogs and an exceptional Vizsla with a superb temperament.  Here's to celebrating the life of my Sassy Sasha.

And here's a video showing just how wonderful Sasha's temperament was. He's playing with Merlin, a visiting male Vizsla who boarded with us while his owners were on their honeymoon.

  2. Thank-you for making me cry like a little girl! I never got to meet Sasha, but I feel like I have now. What a super dog!

The video of Sasha playing keep away is a riot! Both dogs have wonderful temperaments, but don't ALL vizslas!! They are "get along" dogs :)

  5. Wow, Sasha's daughter Mila (11.5) is now the spitting image of her dad as he went whiter! She has those same adorable lips too...so cute from the front! Not to forget the flying nun ears and everything else cute & wonderful about them.

  6. I couldn't help it - I cried today too! I miss Sasha so much. He was just such a wonderful dog - great with people and also great with other dogs. He especially loved puppies.

  7. Those are beautiful memories of Sasha. Thanks for sharing them and letting those of us who have never met him see his joy. I have such wonderful memories of our Lucy and most days the pictures just make me smile but some days I weep and miss her so much. We are lucky to have shared our lives with such special souls.

  8. What a lovely clip of Shandy's papa Sash teasing Merlin! She has inherited much of his cheekiness and when I look at the photos of him I can see many features repeated in Shandy. Thanks for sharing these images with us. As Shandy greys, I can see in Sasha what a beautiful white face and socks I have to look forward to! Sasha wore his whiteness so well, I think it's an adorable look and no longer fear it.
