Where we live, we are fortunate to have access to conservation-owned land adjacent to and across from our 10 acre parcel of land. And five-minutes drive from our home, we have thousands of acres of agreement forest and miles and miles of trails. Although we live on 10 acres - that may sound like a lot of space - it isn't large enough to run and tire our Vizslas out. So this week, I bundled everyone in the van and just drove down to the road (too far for puppies to walk) to Burns Conservation. It's about 50 acres with 2 km of trails plus a small lake which used to be stocked with fish each year. It's no longer stocked with fish but people still come to fish there. I don't usually walk our dogs there because they are supposed to be leashed and the park is popular with visitors. But on off-peak hours and in inclement weather, we may get lucky and have the place to ourselves. For the past 20 years, we have enjoyed this park with all of our Vizslas, past and present. However this day, it was very dull and overcast day and no one else was at Burns. So the 2 puppies - Diva and Quest (we finally gave Mr Green a name!) - and Miska, Nova and Tyro walked the lake area. The puppies had a ball. I threw sticks for Tyro into the lake and when he swam to fetch them, Diva and Quest ventured in but it was Diva who was brave enough to swim.
What I had thought was a video turned out to be a snapshot from the video instead. Here now is the video!
What a lovely place for an excurion. It looks like the pups had a wonderful time.
